Jeffers Remains Hot, Taking down Marquette 3-2

Jeffers opened the scoring with a power-play goal from Max Nordstrom to take a 1–0 lead, but Marquette responded quickly as Seth Sandstrom buried a top-shelf goal off an assist from Brody Sheldon to even the score at 1–1. The tie held through the end of the first period. In the second, Jeffers regained the lead when Easton Therrian capitalized on a Marquette turnover, beating the goalie glove side to make it 2–1 heading into the final frame.

Marquette tied the game once again late in the third period as Jack Pond tipped in a power-play goal at the 14:46 mark to knot things up at 2–2. However, Jeffers answered shortly after, as Brogan Turner finished a 2-on-1 opportunity by slipping the puck between the goaltender’s legs to give Jeffers a 3–2 advantage. The Sentinels will return to the ice this weekend as they head downstate for the T.C. North/South Showcase, opening the event on Friday with a 4:00 p.m. matchup against Trenton.
