Marquette, Mi – December 23rd, 2025 – Marquette looked to extend its four-game winning streak heading into the holiday break as they traveled south to Mount View Arena in Kingsford. However, the Flivvers also came in hot, having outscored their previous two opponents by a combined 16–3.
Marquette struck first in the opening period when Trey Savola netted a power-play goal to give the Sentinels a 1–0 lead. Marquette controlled much of the first, outshooting Kingsford 16–4, and carried that 1–0 advantage into the first intermission.
Kingsford answered in the second period as Casey Clisch found the back of the net to tie the game at 1–1. Marquette held a narrow edge in shots, 13–10, but the score remained deadlocked heading into the third period.
The Flivvers delivered the decisive blow at the 9:24 mark of the third period when Will Murvitch scored on the power play to give Kingsford a 2–1 lead. Despite pushing late for the equalizer, Marquette was unable to capitalize, and Kingsford held on for the 2–1 upset victory, snapping Marquette’s four-game winning streak.
