Gwinn ModelTowner Girls Basketball was defeated by the Escanaba Eskimos on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9 12/28/15

Escanaba, Michigan– 12/28/15– The Gwinn ModelTowner Girls basketball team took on the Escanaba Eskimos in Escanaba this game. Both teams played great! The ModelTowners stayed close behind and ahead of the Eskimos for the most part of the game and had some great defense closer to the second half. The Eskimos made just about every shot they threw. The first half of the game started off pretty close. The Eskimos scored the first few points of the game, giving them a strong lead to begin with. Tiara Taylor scored the first two points for the ModelTowners from the free throw line. Nichole Usher and Tiara Taylor from Gwinn were on the board for points in the first quarter. 10-15 was the score, in favor of the Escanaba Eskimos, at the end of the first quarter. The ModelTowners turned up their defense in the second quarter. Tori Lauren and Tiara Taylor both scored for Gwinn this quarter. 20-21 was a close score, in favor of the Eskimos, at half time.

The second half of the game was tight. Escanaba Eskimos are pretty good at making shots. For a while, in the third quarter, the ModelTowners were at a block as the Eskimos kept raking in the points. 30-38 was the score at the end of the third quarter. Escanaba was unable to make very many of their foul shots and that was good luck for the Gwinn ModelTowners as they were able to catch up. 36-42 was the final score with the Escanaba Eskimos taking the win against the Gwinn ModelTowners.
