U.P. All-Star Football Game Cancelled
- Updated: July 13, 2020

Marquette, MI – July 13, 2020 – The U.P. All-Star Football game has been a staple of the summer in the U.P. since 2008. Every year the best senior high school football players from the previous season meet in the Superior Dome in Marquette for one last showcase. This year however, the show will not go on amidst coronavirus concerns.
In a statement released by Todd Goldbeck, founder and organizer of the event, he said “It saddens me that this year’s seniors will not be able to experience all of the different events that take place throughout All-Star week. Each group of all-star players has spent their entire high school careers working hard to earn the awards and honors that will give them the chance to participate in this event. Unfortunately, for seniors, it is yet another rite of passage that they will not get to take part in.”
The event, regularly held in June, was postponed to a date in August with the hopes that the U.P. would be able to host the game. However with rising cases in the U.P., the statement said it would no longer be possible.
