First Half: The game started out with a slow pace with not a lot of scoring in the opening couple of minutes. Gladstone’s Megan Crow would get her team on the board first with a lay-up. Redette Averie Kelly would lay up a lefty shot of her own to tie the game back up. Rayna Warchock would hit a two point jumper to give Marquette the first lead of the game, 4-2.
Claire van Ginhoven would put up a 3-pointer that would land and give the Braves back their lead. Alaina Trudeau would add another two for Gladstone and the Braves were ahead 10-4 headed into the second quarter.
Marquette would start the second quarter with the hot hand offensively and defensively. They were able to take back the lead following a physical basket by Rayna Warchock putting the Redettes up, 11-10. The lead would be short lived as Megan Crow would drive the baseline and lay-up a shot and give the Braves the lead.

The final minutes would be very much a back and forth battle with a total of six lead changes. Gladstone would head into the locker room on top capped off by a buzzer beater shot by their senior, Megan Crow.
Halftime: Marquette 15, Gladstone 21
Second Half: Gladstone would kick the half off with adding another two points to their lead. Marquette’s Maria Millado would finally get her first points of the night plus the foul to put together a three point play for the Redettes. Millado would also show off her defensive prowess with a quick steal leading to a lay-up and another foul. She was able to put together three points the long way bringing their deficit to five to end the quarter.
The fourth quarter would start with Millado at the free-throw line and only able to sink one to bring the score to, 27-22. The Braves would then bring their lead to double digits with a run lead by Megan Crow who contributed four of the six points. Marquette Redette Averie Kelly looked to keep her team in it with a made lay-up plus the foul to bring the score to, 33-26 in favor of the Braves.

Marquette would be able to close the lead to only three points until Gladstone and Megan Crow took back their lead. It was a very strong defensive battle for the two teams, but Gladstone would prove to be too much for the Redettes and send them home with the loss.
