The Marquette High School Hockey Team Battles Escanaba in an Epic Matchup

Escanaba, MI – November 22, 2024 – The excitement continues as Marquette High School Hockey hits the road once again, traveling an hour south to take on the Escanaba Eskymos. Coming off an exhilarating 3-2 win against Clarkston, the Sentinels entered tonight’s game with determination to extend their winning streak. Broadcasting live from the Wells Ice Arena, Joe Gaffaney and Larry Carey brought every thrilling play to listeners on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9.

First Period:

The game started with high energy as both teams fought for control of the puck. Escanaba capitalized early, scoring quickly in the opening minutes. Marquette responded with grit and resilience, struggling to find an equalizer until the later part of the period when Braydon O’Dovero made an incredible unassisted play, tying the score with a stunning goal. Neither team could break the deadlock as the period came to a close.

Score: Marquette 1 – 1 Escanaba

Second Period:

The Sentinels faced challenges as the Eskymos kept the pressure on, maintaining control on Marquette’s side of the rink. Despite a slow start, Marquette regained their footing, launching multiple offensive plays. However, Escanaba’s defense held strong, preventing the Sentinels from breaking through for another score. The second period ended with no additional goals, keeping the teams deadlocked.

Score: Marquette 1 – 1 Escanaba
