Bloomfield Hills, MI – November 16, 2024 – Fresh off an exhilarating 1-0 victory against Brother Rice, The Marquette High School Hockey Team returned to the ice today to face the Clarkston Wolves in a highly anticipated matchup. With this being the first time Marquette has squared off against Clarkston, fans were eager to see how the Sentinels would handle a new competitor. Joe Gaffaney and Larry Carey delivered all the action live from the Detroit Skate Club on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats!
First Period:
Clarkston wasted no time establishing themselves as a tough opponent, initially holding Marquette out of their zone. However, the Sentinels struck first midway through the period with a beautiful top-shelf shot following a face-off. The celebration was short-lived, as Clarkston responded less than a minute later, sneaking the puck past Marquette’s goalie, Parker Nevehoven, on a rebound. Despite continued efforts from both sides, the period ended in a tie.

The second period began with a burst of energy from The Marquette High School Hockey Team. A surprising power play saw a pass deflect off a Clarkston defenseman and into the net, giving Marquette the lead with an unconventional goal. But the Wolves were quick to respond, executing a clean play to sink the puck and even the score once again. As the period wound down, both teams remained locked in fierce competition, leaving the score tied.
