Redmen Hockey Wins 3-1 Over Kingsford Flivvers
- Updated: December 19, 2019

Marquette, MI – December 19, 2019 – The Marquette Redmen Varsity Hockey team took home a 3-1 victory over the Kingsford Flivvers on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9.
The Marquette Redmen started things off rather efficiently with a goal in the opening minutes of the game. Jacob Peterson nabbed a short-handed goal to give the Redmen an early 1-0 lead.
Flivvers’ goalie Evan Hedtke kept the Redmen at bay, fending off some quality shots to keep Marquette corralled at just one goal for the early going.
Marquette peppered the Flivvers’ net with more than 12 shots on goal early in the second period, but none found the back of the net to improve their standing in the game. The Redmen maintained a tight one-goal lead while struggling to close the deal on another score.
That is, until Gaetano Cammarata broke the spell with the help of Ansel Frost and Cooper Anderson. Cammarata’s goal put the Redmen at 2-0 where the score stayed for the rest of the period.
The third period started a little sluggish as Hedtke continued to keep the Flivvers in the game with save after save. A Redmen power play goal was not too far away, however. Andrew Fedrizzi found the back of the net with an assist from Cammarata for a score of 3-0.
The Flivvers got on the board late in the final period with an even strength goal to bring the final score to 3-1. Hopes for another Liam Beerman shutout were dashed, but the Redmen improve to 7-2 on the season with tonight’s victory.
The Redmen will be back on the ice Saturday, December 28th on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9. Tune in at 6:30 pm for the pregame show, the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
