3:29: After some back and forth play, Jake Garrow was able to bury one in the net. The Rockets would eventually gain a rebound, but weren’t able to put any shots on net. The Redmen simply dominated the entire first period in terms
of time of possesion and keeping the pressure on.

Redmen Goal
Second Period: Reeths-Puffer came out of the locker room looking to get themselves back in the game. While the Marquette Redmen came out to keep the pressure on Van Noord and the Rockets.
0:52 Ethan Phillips was able to get the dish from Garrow and put it past Van Noord. The goal gave the Redmen a commanding 5-0 lead.
2:15 Caleb Fries followed Phillip’s lead and put one of his own in. The second goal of the weekend for Fries had Marquette looking at ending this one ending quick. The goal was assisted by the Riipi brothers, Owen and Nash.
Isaiah Van Noord certainly was feeling the pressure, but was able to make a great save and not allow Garrow the hat trick. His solid showing in the first period was all for not however.
4:00 Drew Dellies was tripped up and fell but not before able to sliding one by Van Noord. In what was a very acrobatic play it gave the Redmen a 7-0 lead, and closing in on that eight goal lead to implement the ‘mercy rule.’
7:35 Brayden Grange was able to bury the puck in unassisted on what was
kind of a freak play with the puck bouncing before sliding past Van Noord. The Redmen had their 8-0 advantage, but the remainder of the period would be played with a running clock.
9:40 The Redmen’s Caleb Fries would once again score before the end of the period. They would gain themselves a very comfortable 9-0 lead.
