Marquette Hockey Shuts Out Rochester Adams 8-0
- Updated: November 22, 2019

The Redmen warm up on the ice at the Onyx Area in Rochester.
Marquette, MI – November 22, 2019 – The Marquette Redmen Hockey team shut out Rochester Adams in a blistering season opener tonight on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9.
There was some big Redmen hustle right out of the gate tonight. A big save by Rochester’s Jacob Cirenese staved off a valiant effort from Redmen Cooper Anderson. Joseph Luke buried the first goal shortly thereafter, assisted by Ansel Frost. Marquette took an early lead at 1-0 over Rochester.
With just a few minutes to go in the opening period, the Redmen cashed in on a little luck. Evan Kroll knocked the puck in after the Rochester goalie dropped a save to make it 2-0 going into the second period.

The second period started with some clutch saves from a confident Brennan Hakkola, but no score early on. Ansel Frost changed all that when he found the back of the net with an assist from Hogan Nemetz to improve the Redmen to 3-0. Cooper Anderson followed up with a steal to set up Gaetano Cammarata for a short-handed goal in short order. The Redmen widened their lead to 4-0 over Rochester Adams going into the final period of play. Rochester Adams struggled to gain any traction against the Redmen. Rochester started the third period with a power play, but did not even set up a shot during that opportunity. Dylan Baldwin stepped out of the box and stormed the goalie to make it 5-0 in the final period. Marquette simply dominated the momentum of the evening.
Baldwin followed up with yet another goal for the Redmen, with an assist from Jakob Peterson, to bring the score to 6-0. The Marquette lead topped out at 8-0 where the game ended, a mercy to a shell-shocked Rochester Adams.
The Redmen will be back tomorrow, Saturday, November 23rd against Rochester Hills Stoney Creek on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9 and 103 FXD. The puck drops at 1:00 pm.
