Redmen Basketball Falls to Negaunee Miners in Overtime 79-73

Negaunee, MI – January 3, 2020 – Marquette Redmen Varsity Basketball falls to Negaunee Miners tonight in overtime 79-73 on 103 WXD Big Game of the Week.

Marquette Redmen came out hot with 9 – 0 run in the first quarter with 3 three points with Lincoln Sager hitting 2 of the 3 three pointer. Then Negaunee Miners went on 6 – 0 run to cut into the lead. Marquette Redmen lead over Negaunee Miners 18-10 thru 1st quarter of the actions.

Marquette Redmen came out slow with 3 minutes without scoring a point. But Negaunee but couldn’t get any closer then 3 point in the second quarter. Marquette Redmen end the second quarter with a 5 – 0 run to lead Negaunee Miners by 30-22.

Lincoln Sager hit to 2 three point shot in the third quarter stretch out the lead. Marquette Redmen has been hot from the three point shot in the third quarter. Negaunee Miners has no answer for Marquette Redmen hot scoring. Marquette Redmen leads Negaunee Miners 53-44 at the end of third quarter.

Marquette Redmen came out in the fourth quarter sleeping while Negaunee Miners fought all the way back to take the lead with 3 minutes left of the game. Marquette Redmen and Negaunee Miners are going to overtime with 66 tie. Marquette Redmen struggle with free throw in the game to close out the Negaunee Miners. Also Marquette gave up 22 points in the 4th quarter to let Negaunee Miners.

Marquette Redmen fall to Negaunee Miners in overtime. The Negaunee Miners take Victors Cup back to Negaunee after defeating Marquette Redmen in overtime 79-73.
