Marquette Redmen defeat Houghton Gremlins 50-24


Marquette, MI – March 1st, 2018 – The Marquette Redmen High School Basketball team met with the Houghton Gremlins this evening on their own turf of Marquette for the final game of the regular season and took victory over the Gremlins with a final score of 50-24.

The Marquette Redmen met the Houghton Gremlins this evening in Marquette for a game finale that would had not been evident from the start of the first quarter. With 6 minutes left in play the Redmen finally put up the first points of the game, and it was a major 3-pointer no less, it appeared this game was shaping up to be a low scoring, highly defensive match with the first frame ending with a score of 6-3 Redmen. 

The remainder of this game was all the Marquette Redmen as they bombarded Houghton with shot after shot all unanswered points. The game appeared to be more of a friendly scrimmage than a regulation game given the Gremlins total shut down. The Redmen absolutely ran with the game score and blew the game wide open with no chance for Houghton to recover.

The remainder of the game was just a display of Redmen skill and the game ended effortlessly with a final score of 50-24.
