The start of the game did not go in Marquette’s favor. After about three minutes of no field goals, Kam Karp would hit a three-pointer to break up a 13-1 run for Traverse City, 13-4 TCC with five minutes to go in the first. After two minutes for hard defense by both teams, Drew Wyble would make a three-pointer of his own to cut the TCC lead down to six, 13-7 TCC, and after the first, it was a 19-9 TCC lead.

In the second, it again was a slower start for Marquette as their first field-goal came a little after two minutes into the quarter and it would only be one of two they hit in the first five minutes of the quarter as Traverse City extended their lead, 35-14 with two minutes to go in the half. Two big shot for the Redmen would fall in the final two minutes, a Wyble three and a Lotterman three would serve as damage control heading into the half, 38-21, TCC.
John Thompson would open the second half with a quick shot and Ty lotterman would hit a three-pointer the next possession after a stop, a quick 5-0 run in the first 30 seconds of the third quarter. After a couple shots by Traverse City, the lead would balloon back to 14, 44-30 with three minutes to go in the quarter and it would be a 16 point TCC advantage after three, 50-34.
fourth quarter action saw some back and forth action as it was a 14 point game with four minutes in the game, 60-46 and the Redmen just couldn’t claw back into the game as Traverse City’s attack was just too much for Marquette as Traverse City Central would take it, 65-55.
Ty Lotterman would led all scorers with 20 for Marquette.
