Marquette Boys Basketball Dominates Vs Ishpeming Hematites, 80-46

Marquette, MI – January 21, 2020 – The Marquette Redmen Varsity Basketball team did battle with the Ishpeming Hematites Tuesday night in Marquette. The Redmen were never in doubt from the start, they won by the score of 80-46.
In the first quarter, the Redmen looked like they would make quick work of Ishpeming early on with five of the first six makes in the game, but Ishpeming’s John Corkin would knock down a few jumpers to bring the game back, 12-14, Marquette after one, Ty Lotterman lead the way with seven for the Redmen.

Second quarter was another hot start for the Redmen, back-to-back three-pointers gave Marquette a 23-14 advantage. The two teams would exchange shots and the Redmen would lead 34-20 halfway through the second quarter, Marquette would extend that lead by two before the end of the quarter, 39-24 at the half, Kam Karp lead all scorers with 11, seven different Redmen were on the board by halftime.
The second half would be just like the first. Multiple Redmen were able to find the bottom of the basket in the third quarter as their lead inflated to as much as 23. Ishpeming was unable to keep up with Marquette’s stellar offense, Marquette would lead 59-36 after three.
Both teams emptied their benches with about four minutes left while Marquette extended their lead to 30. From there, 12 Marquette players would find themselves on the scorer’s sheet as thje Redmen cruise, 80-46.
Kam Karp lead all scorers with 13, Ty Lotterman and Collin Hicks had 11.
