Chuck Bergdahl Congratulates Cub Cadet Winner Tasha Vangundy

Ishpeming, MI – March 29, 2018 – What a great night for our Manicure Your Lawn Giveaway Party! A whopping 384 people came to River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center for the chance to win a brand new Cub Cadet Mower and Cart from Bergdahl’s. Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Tasha Vangundy from Harvey.

We opened the doors at 6:30 pm and guests were greeted by Nancy and Amy who collected invitations and handed out prize tickets. Amy and Nancy, Great Lakes Radio’s Dynamic Duo at the registration table kept the line moving quickly!

Once our guests settled in, our two favorite hams… er, our illustrious emcees, Walt Lindala and Adam Carpenter, officially welcomed everyone to the party and kicked off another fun giveaway. After thanking our sponsors and River Rock Lanes for hosting yet another Great Lakes Radio giveaway party, we started giving stuff away! Pulling tickets out of our door prize bucket, our station employees handed out prizes to the people in the crowd. Among the door prizes we gave away were bags of BIGGBY Coffee and a $30 Gift Card from Frei Chevrolet.

Walt then introduced Eric Scott, the Great Lakes Radio Programming/Production Director and WFXD morning show host, who took over the mic to prepare everyone for one of our favorite parts of the evening – the food. Mama Russo’s catered the event with a buffet fit for a Yooper with their famous homemade salads, tasty cudighi bites, and delicious lasagna. Yum!

After we ate, it was time to give away more swag from our sponsors, like Edge of Reality VR Arcade certificates, some incredible Upper Peninsula waterfall prints from Saddleback Photo, and a pretty amazing party basket from The Up North Lodge. Thanks, Sally! I’m sure the winner will enjoy the Half Rack of Ribs Dinner and all the other goodies stuffed into that basket.

When we ran out of door prizes, it was finally time to select our finalists for the mower! Walt invited Major Discount up to the front as we drew the finalist tickets. Our finalists each came to the front and chose a station envelope; then they had to wait a little bit longer!

The friendly folks at Bergdahl’s provided our grand prize, and they joined us at the party to give away one of their best selling mowers in the Upper Peninsula! Finally, Major Discount invited Chuck Bergdahl to the front to draw the last finalist ticket from the bucket, and all seven finalists lined up as the Major started the countdown so finalists could tear open their envelopes. Tasha Vangundy picked the lucky envelope and pulled out the winning sheet.

Congratulations, Tasha, on winning a brand new mower. Tasha told the Major that she had a huge yard and her neighbor mowed it for her. This prize may become a community resource for the neighborhood! What a great way to keep everyone’s lawn beautifully manicured!
