Wolverines Keep Dancing, Spartans Fall and Wisconsin Upsets

Marquette, MI – The Michigan Wolverines continue to dance with a 73-69 victory over the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday. Wolverines center Moe Wagner dropped a career high 26 points and made many key baskets in the second half to lead Michigan to a victory. Louisville was led by Donovan Mitchell who had 19 points and seven rebounds followed by Deng Adel with 16 points. The Wolverines have won seven straight games dating back to their airplane issue and now will move on to face Oregon who beat Rhode Island on Sunday night.
The Michigan State Spartans had a tough go around on Sunday evening falling to the number one seeded Kansas Jayhawks 90-70. The Jayhawks were led by standout freshman Josh Jackson who had a total of 23 points in the contest. The Spartans were led by guard Miles Bridges who added 22 points on the night. The Spartans season comes to an end while the Jayhawks move on to face another Big Ten opponent, the Purdue Boilermakers.
The Wisconsin Badgers came out with the biggest upset of the entire weekend defeating the defending champion Villanova Wildcats 65-62. The Badgers were led by Nigel Hayes who scored 19 points, scoring a key lay-up with 11.4 seconds left to send Wisconsin to the Sweet Sixteen. Bronson Koenig also added 17 points for the Badgers. The Wildcats were led by senior Josh Hart who had 19 points. The Badgers will now move on to take on the Florida Gators.
