Verlander’s Tigers Fall, Alex Tiseo From Marquette And Cleveland Saga
- Updated: July 25, 2017
Marquette, MI – 7/25/17 – Justin Verlander may very well have pitched his last game as a Tiger last night as the Tigers fell to the Kansas City Royals in 12 innings. Verlander started out hot with 5 strikeout through 2 innings. He allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings while striking out nine and threw 119 pitches. Royals Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas hit back to back home runs in the 12th off of Toledo call-up Drew VerHagen. Kansas City reliever Jakob Junis, one of the seven relievers used, ended up with the win after pitching a hit-less 11th inning.
Alex Tiseo, Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director stopped by to talk about some of the upgrades to Marquette. Recently, Marquette Senior High School agreed to a deal with BSN Sports and Nike for 5 years as the apparel and equipment provider for athletics. The agreement is the first of its kind for an Upper Peninsula High School. The agreement will allow for Marquette to develop their brand through Nike.
The Cleveland Cavilers once again are making news for the millionth time in the past two weeks. As of Monday afternoon, Derrick Rose is now a Caviler as he signs a one wear contract worth 2.1 million dollars, but that wasn’t all the news that came out of Ohio. Lebron James is currently under fire after his comments towards current point guard Kyrie Irving. Irving requested a trade this week and due to the ongoing feud between the two stars, Lebron felt like Irving was calling him a bad teammate. Lebron was quoted as saying if he saw Irving, he would, “beat his ass”. Still many questions surround the Cavilers with so few answers, time will tell what the end result will be.
