Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings had a rough one last night as they traveled to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightening less than 24 hours after leaving Carolina around midnight on a plane after the ice debacle. The Red Wings ended up losing 4-1 in the contest but they also lost a key member of the team, goalie Jimmy Howard. Howard sustained a leg injury in the first period giving way to back up Petr Mrazek. The Red Wings called up goalie and former Northern Michigan Wildcat Jared Coreau to back up Petr Mrazek while Howard is out. Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha was the lone goal goal scorer in the loss. The Red Wings complete their two game trip when they play the Florida Panthers on Friday night.

The Detroit Pistons are getting ready to take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight after getting embarrassed against the Chicago Bulls. Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy will insert a new player into the starting five and that will not be released until game time. The Pistons come into the game with a 14-16 record and the Grizzlies come in with a 18-12 record. Game time is at 7:30 in Memphis.
