Redmen Get Big Win And The Detroit Red Wings

Marquette, MI – 12/20/17 – The Marquette Redmen boys basketball team started out the season 1-3 without playing Upper Peninsula competition. The Redmen got their chance last night as they traveled to Escanaba to take on the Eskymos. After one quarter of play the Redmen made a bold statement with a 16-3 lead cruising to a 76-53 victory. Marquette was led by senior Try McFerrin who had 21 points followed by Marius Grazulis who added 19 points and 13 rebounds. The Eskymos were led by sharpshooter Ryan Robinette who had 24 points. The Redmen return to the court on Friday when they travel to Negaunee to take on the Miners.

The Detroit Red Wings are currently on a two game winning streak with a 6-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night. Detroit defenseman Trevor Daley scored midway through the third to give Detroit the lead and the Red Wings never looked back. The Red Wings also got goals from Martin Frk, Mike Green, Anthony Mantha, Luke Glendening and Gustav Nyquist. Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin had three assists. The Red Wings return to the ice tonight to take on the Flyers in Philadelphia.
