Pistons Squeak By, Red Wings Bolted and Final Four Talk
- Updated: March 31, 2017
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Pistons picked up a big win last night to keep their playoff hopes alive defeating the Brooklyn Nets 90-89 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Pistons forward Marcus Morris led the way with 28 points and 13 rebounds followed by point guard Ish Smith who added 21 points and 5 assists. Nets center Brook Lopez missed a three pointer to put the Nets in the lead in the last minute and led to sending the Pistons to the free throw line and ending the game with a victory. The Pistons are 2 1/2 games out of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and will take on the Milwaukee Bucks tonight in Milwaukee.
The Detroit Red Wings once again come up short as they fell to the Tampa Bay Lightening 5-3 on Thursday night. The Red Wings season is coming to a close and most of their opponents are playing for a better position in the playoffs. The Red Wings and Lightening, two teams who played each other last year in the playoffs are both bottom feeders in the Atlantic Division. The Red Wings will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
The Final Four is fast approaching as both games will play on Saturday. The South Carolina Gamecocks come in as the seventh seed taking on the number one seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs. The number three seed Oregon Ducks will take on the number one seeded North Carolina Tar Heels. On today’s show Luke Ghiardi stopped by to talk NCAA Final Four match-ups and analyzed who he thought would win.
