- Updated: January 30, 2017
Marquette, MI – The NFL Pro Bowl was underway Sunday afternoon in Orlando. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees threw for 10-19 for 112 yards which included a touchdown pass to Pro Bowl MVP Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs. The AFC won the game 20-13. The lone Detroit Lion was kicker Matt Prater who was 2-2 on the night, both being extra points. The next event for the NFL is the Superbowl next Sunday between New England and Atlanta.
The NHL All-Star game was also underway in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. Wayne Simmonds scored a tie-breaking goal with 4:58 remaining in in the period to lead the Metropolitan Division to victory over the Pacific Division. The goal by Simmonds completed his hat trick and sealed the MVP, which he was presented with a truck. The Atlantic Division team won the Saturday’s Super-Skills Competition.
The Detroit Pistons look to rebound tonight as they head to Boston to take on the Cethics led by point guard Isiah Thomas who has averaged 31 points per game in the past 22 outings. The Pistons are 3-2 in their last five games and look to continue their winning ways tonight at 8 pm.
