Marquette, MI – Mexico held a professional football game on Monday night between the Oakland Raiders and the Houston Texans. The Oakland Raiders move to 8-2 on the season with a 27-20 victory over the Texans. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had a strong outing throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns. Derek Carr now has 12 starts without being sacked, a record for most games without being sacked for the first time since 2012. The Raiders are off to their best 10 game start since 2001.

The Detroit Pistons had some good news to share yesterday, announcing that they will play their 2017-2018 season in Detroit at the new Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons also had a game at home last night against the Houston Rockets, losing 99-96. Rockets James Harden finished with 28 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. The lone bright spot for the Pistons was Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who scored 26 points. The Pistons now wait a day until their next game with Miami on Wednesday at home, that game begins at 7:30 pm.

Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director Blaise Zimmer stopped by this morning to talk sports and his school. The Marquette Redmen men and women’s swim team both came out with a victory over Manistique last night. The Redmen Hockey Team open up their season tonight at home against the Houghton Gremlins at 7 pm at Lakeview Arena.
