Marquette, MI – The Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars both had rough games. The Lions took on the Jaguars at home and neither team had big offensive and defensive games. The score at the half was 9-9 all, second half began and the Lions started moving the ball, along with a couple of field goals from kicker Matt Prater. The Lions ended up holding off the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-19 to move to 6-4 on the season. The Lions will now wait until Thanksgiving Day when they face the Minnesota Vikings at home for first place in the division. Both Minnesota and Detroit are in a deadlocked tie for first place at 6-4 on their seasons.

The Green Bay Packers woes continued for a fourth straight week losing to the Washington Redskins on the arm of Kirk Cousins who threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Redskins to a 42-24 victory. The loss put the Packers two games back of the Lions and Vikings in the NFC North. The Packers have not missed the playoffs since 2008 and would need to pull of a heck of a feat to return to the playoffs. Their next match-up will come next Sunday when they head to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles.

Marquette Senior High School Head Hockey Coach Doug Garrow stopped by this morning to talk about his hockey team and their up-coming season. The Marquette Redmen will face Houghton tomorrow night at the Lakeview Arena in Marquette at 7 pm.
