Marquette County Youth Football, No Run Support For JV And Favorite Team
- Updated: July 20, 2017
Marquette, MI – 7/20/17 – The Marquette County Youth Football Program Commissioner Pat Kaski stopped in to bring us up to date on all the summer events and upcoming calendar for the youth football program. The Marquette County Youth Football Program is in the middle of registration for the 2017 football season. The deadline for signing up is July 31st of this month. There will also be a Econo Foods Fundraiser event on Saturday, August 26th from 11 am to 5 pm. The program has produced many great athletes and respectable young men into the Marquette community, we thank the Marquette County Youth Football Program for all that they do.
The Detroit Tigers returned to their losing ways on Wednesday night as they were defeated by the Kansas City Royals 4-3. Tigers Justin Verlander pitched a gem only to see no run support in his effort. Verlander gave up six hits and struck out eight in his seven innings of work. The other standout for the Tigers was outfielder Mikie Mahtook who added a go-ahead two run shot in the eighth inning, Justin Wilson was saddled with the loss blowing the save in the ninth inning on an Alex Gordon sac fly.
We asked, who’s your favorite team of all time? Today’s segment we had people text and tell us their favorite team. Luke’s was the Michigan Wolverines basketball team on 2013-2014 which went on to the National Championship. Ryan’s was the 1997 Detroit Red Wings which started a huge rivalry with the Colorado Avalanche and ultimately won the Stanley Cup.
