Cubs Avoid Elimination, Wings Lose, Pistons Win Big, Packers and Lions

Marquette, MI – The Chicago Cubs avoided elimination on Sunday night at Wrigley Field against the Cleveland Indians. Cubs manager Joe Maddon pulled all the right strings Sunday night bringing in closer Aroldis Chapman early in the seventh inning. Chapman threw 42 pitches, 15 of them being over 100 mph and lead the Cubs to a 3-2 win and cutting the series lead from 3-1 to 3-2. Next game will be back in Cleveland game time for game 6 is at 8 pm. The Cubs will send Jake Arrieta to the mound to face Indians Josh Tomlin.
The Red Wings six game winning streak ended this weekend losing to the Boston Bruins on Saturday and then losing to the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Coming out of this weekend the Red Wings remain in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 6-4 record. The Red Wings next game will be in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
The Detroit Pistons got a big win on Sunday defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 98-83. Pistons Andre Drummond stole the show recording 20 points and 23 rebounds in the victory. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also added 21 points. Milwaukee never led after the second half and the Pistons improved to a record of 2-1 on the season. Up next for the Pistons they will face the New York Knicks on Tuesday night at home.
The Detroit Lions fell to the Houston Texans Sunday afternoon 20-13. The Lions three game win streak came to an end. Stafford threw for 240 yards and a touchdown, Brock Osweiler for Houston threw for 186 yards and a touchdown to lead the Texans to the victory. The Lions head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings next Sunday.
The Green Bay Packers lost a tight game to the Atlanta Falcons 33-32. Falcons Matt Ryan threw an 11 yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Sanu with 31 seconds remaining to tie the game and the extra point was the tie-breaker. Green Bay will return home for next weeks game against the Indianapolis Colts and will be the only home game for the Packers in the month of November.
