
Marquette, MI – The Tennessee Titans proved to be a better team than everyone thought as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars at home last night with a 36-22 victory. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns in the victory leading the Titans to a 4-4 record halfway through the season.
The Detroit Red Wings extended their winning streak to six games last night with a hard fought 2-1 victory. The Red Wings and Blues were tied at one a piece heading into overtime. Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek stood on his head all night keeping the wings in the game. The game went to a shootout and Mrazek came up with big time saves in an 8 round contest in which captain Henrik Zetterberg scored the final shootout goal keeping the streak alive. The Red Wings head to Boston to take on the Bruins Saturday night.
The Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians are tied at one game a piece heading into game three which will take place tonight at Wrigley Field. The Cubs will send Kyle Hendricks to the mound squaring off against Indians Josh Tomlin. Game time is at 8 pm.
