Adam Carpenter Thursday and Tigers Baseball
- Updated: September 22, 2016
Marquette, MI – The Detroit Tigers gained much needed ground in the American League wild card race on Wednesday night, thanks to a rain out in Minnesota. Wednesday nights game was delayed due to heavy down pouring rain that blew in Minnesota, postponed for 90 minutes and the game was called, setting up a double header today in Minnesota. Despite the rain-out, the Tigers moved within a game of the Baltimore Orioles for the final wild card spot as Toronto lost at Seattle and the Boston Red Sox took down the Orioles. Today will be interesting to say the least with a double header on the horizon. The first game begins at 2:10pm when Anibal Sanchez takes the mound against Pat Dean and game number two begins at 8:10pm when Justin Verlander faces off against Ervin Santana.
NFL week three kicks off tonight with the Houston Texans welcoming in the injured New England Patriots. Injured Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is listed as doubtful but could be a last minute decision. Despite opening the season undefeated, the Texans defense has been excellent the first two weeks of the season. The front seven has been a killer for offenses, recording 9 sacks and leading the NFL. The game is set to begin at 8:25pm on ABC.
Adam Carpenter from the Outdoor Show on 103 FXD stopped by to chime in on some NFL and MLB talk. During the show we went over some really cool nicknames of former professional athletes and nicknames of high schools around the area.
