
Marquette, MI – 12/11/17 – ABC10 Sports Director Sam Ali stopped by this morning to talk about, “Lil Yachty Gate”. The rapper Lil Yachty was supposed to perform on Friday night at the Berry Events Center when he mysteriously didn’t show up to the concert. The story begins before Friday even happened with Sam Ali posting on Facebook and Twitter that Marquette should “be ashamed of themselves” for bringing Lil Yacthy to Marquette. Ali received a crazy amount of hate and support, even bring his Twitter followers number to over 1,000. A hashtag that went viral also was named after Sam, #YachtyGate and #SamVsLilYachty. Friday came and Lil Yachty didn’t, meanwhile, Sam was at home eating his Broccoli dinner, touche Sam, touche.
The Detroit Lions got back to their winning ways with a 24-21 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Playing through an injury, Matthew Stafford competed 36 of 44 attempts for 381 yards to lead them in his 32nd game winning drive of his career and 4th this season. The Lions are currently tied for second place in the NFC North and face the Chicago Bear at home this coming Sunday.
The Green Bay Packers escaped Cleveland on Sunday afternoon with a come from behind victory in overtime 27-21. Packers quarterback Brett Hundley threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams for the victory. Going into the 4th quarter the Packers trailed 21-7 but rallied back on key Cleveland mistakes to keep their season and playoff hopes alive. The Packers improve to 7-6 on the season and face the Carolina Panthers next Sunday in Carolina.
