During the first segment of the show, we took an in-depth look at the journey the 906 Adventure Team has been on since its creation in 2014. Poquette discussed how the program has evolved over the years, continuing to grow while expanding beyond the Upper Peninsula. He also talked about the challenges of mountain biking and outdoor endurance sports, explaining why so many kids continue to come back year after year to push themselves and try something difficult. According to Poquette, one of the hardest parts is simply convincing kids to take a chance and try something new for the first time.
In the second part of the show, we learned more about Poquette’s background growing up in Gladstone, where he was a multi-sport athlete before eventually discovering a passion for biking through a unique and inspiring journey of his own. Toward the end of the episode, he shared what’s next for 906 Adventure Team and how families and young athletes can get involved.

Next week, we’ll be joined by Dustin Brancheau, a former multi-sport athlete from Republic who went on to play football at Northern Michigan University from 2006-2010. During his career with the Wildcats, Brancheau was a two-year captain, earned All-Conference honors, and set the school record for most touchdown receptions in a single game with three.
After his playing career, Brancheau founded his own sports performance and strength training facility in Marquette. In 2024, the business celebrated the grand opening of its new location and has recently completed additional renovations. Throughout his career as a trainer, Brancheau has worked with several professional athletes, including Jake Witt, Nick Baumgartner, and Finn Hogan, among many others.
During next week’s conversation, we’ll dive into his training philosophy, the growth of his facility, his AAU basketball program, and much more.
