Marquette, MI – April 28th, 2026 – This week, we were scheduled to be joined by Marquette head baseball coach Mark Pantti. A big thank you goes out to assistant coaches Ricky Bagnall and Joey Gleason for stepping in after Coach Pantti had to leave town for work.
We kicked off the show with Ricky Bagnall, who is in his first season with the Sentinels baseball program and primarily works with the pitchers. We took an in-depth look at Marquette’s start to the season, how Bagnall is building relationships with his players, and the expectations for the remainder of the year. We also discussed what it has been like coaching his stepson, Wes, whether that brings unique challenges, and the solution they came up with to make it work.
Joey Gleason joined us during the final segment of the show. His journey has been much different than Bagnall’s, as Gleason has been around this group of players for years, climbing through the ranks alongside his son, Desmond. We talked about the relationships he has built with the athletes and what his role is with this year’s team. He also educated us on the responsibilities of first and third base coaches, the reads they are looking for during games, and gave an upcoming outlook on what’s next for the Sentinels.

Next week, we’ll be joined by Todd Poquette, Director of Adventure for 906 Adventure Team. Founded in Marquette in 2014, 906 Adventure Team started with just a handful of kids and has grown into one of the Midwest’s most unique youth outdoor organizations. Its mission is to help youth become the best version of themselves through outdoor adventure. Poquette has built a strong following in Michigan, and endurance sports communities, through his “Do Hard Things” philosophy which emphasizing resilience, discipline, and growth through challenge. He is also heavily involved with events such as the Marji Gesick, The Crusher, and the Polar Roll.
