Marquette, MI – May 12th, 2026 – This week, we were joined by Dustin Brancheau, owner of AdvantEDGE Sports, which has grown into one of the top sports training facilities in the country. Professional athletes from across the nation have gone out of their way to train at the Marquette-based facility, helping put the Upper Peninsula on the map in the sports performance world.
During our first segment, we learned how Brancheau first got involved with AdvantEDGE Sports and eventually took over the business. He shared his journey of continuing to expand throughout Marquette before finally finding a permanent home in the former Shrunk Furniture building, where the facility currently operates. Brancheau also discussed the completion of Phase One of the remodel and gave insight into what fans and athletes can expect during Phases Two and Three, along with the expected timeline for those upgrades. Later in the segment, we also got to hear about Brancheau’s background as a multi-sport athlete at Republic before continuing his athletic career at the collegiate level.
In segment two, the conversation shifted to the U.P. All-Star Football Game, an event Brancheau took over three years ago and has continued to grow with his own vision and ideas. He talked about some of the new additions and changes coming to this year’s game while also reflecting on a few favorite memories from past events. The game is scheduled for June 20, and during the interview he shared more details on what players, coaches, and fans can expect this year.
We wrapped up the show by discussing the AdvantEDGE Sports AAU basketball program, Zero-star, which operates differently from a traditional AAU setup. Brancheau explained the unique approach they take and how it benefits young athletes throughout the Upper Peninsula. Overall, it was a great opportunity to learn more about someone who plays a major role in local communities while training athletes from multiple schools across the U.P.

As for next week’s guest, we’ll be joined by Jess Styer, who is playing a major role in this weekend’s Gus Macker tournament taking place in Gwinn. We’re excited to hear more about everything that goes into organizing an event of that size, the work behind the scenes to make it happen, and the support the Gwinn community continues to show for the tournament.
