Gwinn, Michigan – February 28th, 2017 – We wrapped up February with a win from Gwinn on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9! The Marquette Redmen defeated the Gwinn ModelTowners on Tuesday night by a final 87-51. Jacob Ogea was on deck to bring you all the action on Tuesday night from Gwinn. Both teams were on the floor at the start of the first quarter!
3-0 was the score with the Redmen over the ModelTowners at the start of the first quarter. The Marquette Redmen had a 10-2 lead over the ModelTowners. Luke Ogea had a rebound for Marquette looking to bring the ball the other way. Brice Brozo checked into the game in the first quarter for Marquette. The scoreboard read 17-7 as the Marquette Redmen had a 10 point lead over the ModelTowners. With 53 seconds left on the clock Luke Ogea went to shoot 2 free throws. 22-13 was the score at the end of the first quarter with the Redmen in the lead over the Gwinn ModelTowners.
With 5:28 left to go the Marquette Redmen lead the Gwinn ModelTowners 27-21 in the second quarter; 6 point lead for the Marquette Redmen. Ethan Marsh took a seat on the bench. Tucker Taylor was able to get the basket to go. Ian Ogea buried the corner for 3 for the Redmen. 41-25 lead for the Marquette Redmen over the Gwinn ModelTowners. 18 point lead for the Marquette Redmen; the largest lead in the game over the ModelTowners. 47-27 was the score as the ModelTowners trailed the Redmen by 20 points. The buzzer sounds and the Marquette Redmen lead the Gwinn ModelTowners 50-27 at the end of the first half from Gwinn.
5 points as the lead is cut by 22 points. 52-28 was the score at the start of the third quarter from Gwinn. The ModelTowners had one team foul in the third quarter. 56-30 game with the Redmen over the Gwinn ModelTowners. 29 point lead for Marquette Redmen; 65-36. 5 team fouls for Marquette and 2 for the Gwinn ModelTowners in the third quarter of action. 69-38 with the Redmen in the lead over the ModelTowners at the end of the third quarter.
72-38 the Marquette Redmen lead the ModelTowners at the start of the fourth quarter from Gwinn High School. The Marquette Redmen go on and defeat the Gwinn ModelTowners 87-51 on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 & 99.9!
