Marquette, MI – Winning has become the norm for the Detroit Tigers but last night was a different story. The Tigers pitched well, fielded well but the bats were silent. The Tigers fell to the Chicago White Sox yesterday at U.S. Cellular Field 2-0. Tigers pitcher Matt Boyd had a solid outing recording a record high 108 pitches total in the contest. Boyd leading up to the game had five wins and five no decisions since giving up seven runs in a 16-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals earlier in the season. Chicago White Sox pitcher Miguel Gonzalez limited the Tigers to only six hits in 6 1/3 innings and no walks allowed. The Tigers are back at it this afternoon against Chicago at 2:05pm.

Head Coach of the Ishpeming Hemitite Football Team Jeff Olson stopped by today to bring us up to date on his team and their season. Coach also talked about his background in football and coaching as well as talking about his daily routine for working as a coach and teacher. We also went over “Do it for Daniel”, which is Coach Jeff’s late son. Coach has led the Hemitites to an 74-6 record his last 80 games and three State Championships to go along with his resume. Coach Jeff Olson is one of the best and JR and Friends were glad to have him on the show.
