Alpena, MI – March, 6th, 2017 – It was time for the Marquette Redmen to take to the court for their first game of the playoffs for the 2017 season. Unlike the first quarter, the scoring action started right away with the Marquette Redmen adding two more points to their total. Alpena was making use of their size advantage over the Redmen, shrinking Marquette’s lead to five points just before the midway point of the quarter. The score was 21-14 with four minutes left to play in the first half, but neither team appeared to be in complete control of the game. With 1:20 left in the half, the Redmen held an eight-point lead, trading point for point with the Wildcats.

The Redmen had outscored Alpena 9-3 in the beginning of the second half, and that allowed them to make the score gap 15 points.
