Marquette, MIJanuary 2, 2018 – The Marquette Redettes defeated the Gwinn Modeltowners by a score of 51-32 on Tuesday night, in a game that was broadcast on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9 and online at foxsportsmarquette.com.  The Redettes, who came into the game with a record of 7-0, were able to pick up the victory and remain unbeaten on the season.

Marquette came out in the first quarter looking rather sloppy, as did the Modeltowners.  Marquette’s defense was just as staunch as ever, holding Gwinn to just two points in the opening stanza.  The Redettes’ offense was able to find more success, scoring eight points of their own.  The second quarter was more of the same, with Marquette allowing only two more points for the Modeltowners.  At the half, the score stood at 21-4 in favor of the Redettes.

Both teams cleaned up their play after halftime, with Marquette outscoring Gwinn 20-15 in the third quarter.  In the final stanza Marquette continued their dominance, and at the end of the game, the score was 51-32 in favor of the Redettes.  Leading the way to victory for Marquette was Mo Miller, who put up 17 of the Redettes’ 51 points on the night.

The Marquette Redettes will next take the court on Tuesday January 8, when they face their bitter rivals, the Negaunee Miners, in Negaunee.  The tip-off of that contest is set for 7:30 P.M., and you can listen live on 103.3 WFXD or online at wfxd.com.
