The Gwinn Modeltowners edge out the Norway Knights 14 to 12
- Updated: October 19, 2020
Norway, Michigan 10/9/2020 – The Gwinn Modeltowners defeat The Norway Knights 14 to 12. Even though Norway is a good hour and a half drive from Gwinn, a football game under the lights at Norway’s football field is a good night. The field looks like it sits in a bowl with the bleachers on side – a beautiful field for a great night of football.
The Norway Knights scored first from a 5 yard run from #12 Gannon Bray, and those were the only points scored in the first quarter. Gwinn answered early in the in the second quarter from a 7 yard run from the Kountry Korner Shell Offensive Player of the Game, #33 Reid Hill. A couple of possessions later, Gwinn took the lead with a 5 yard run by #3 Carl Peterson, with the Peterson two-point attempt being good too. Gwinn led 14 to 6 at the half.
No points were scored in the 3rd quarter. Gwinn’s defense, led by The Mike’s Auto Defensive Player of the Game, #11 Shafaar Evans, sealed the deal for Gwinn with less than 2 minutes to go with his second interception of the game. This coming Friday, GHS takes on West Iron County on Friday Night at McCormick field in Gwinn. Be sure to listen to the live steam at foxsportsmarquette.com
