Gwinn, Michigan – August 28th, 2015 – It was the first game of the season for the Gwinn ModelTowners and they played hard. This Friday night was a good one as the ModelTowners took on the Gladstone Braves. Mike James and Jim Vereb brought you all the action, filling the shoes of the previous Gordon Mielke, and did a great job as the two teams roughed it out on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9, also streamed live at GoToGwinn.com.
The first quarter of the game brought a lot of action for Gwinn! Our ModelTowner football team made the first touchdown of the game and got the following two point diversion making the score right away, 8-0 with Gwinn in the lead. The Gladstone Braves had about two chances in the red zone but the passes were incomplete and they just couldn’t make it past the ModelTowners defense. The final score for the first quarter was 8-0 with the ModelTowners in the lead.
First Quarter Score:
The second quarter picked up a little more as the braves picked up their offense and got a touchdown. Gwinn marched up and down the field this quarter but were unable to score. Things got a little bleak as Devin Dachs went down with an injury leaving the ModelTowners one player less for the second quarter. Fortunately, Devin was able to get up and walk on his own a few minutes after the injury. The Braves intercepted the last throw of the quarter and claimed the ball for the third quarter. Second Quarter Score:
Third quarter started off with the Gladstone Braves having the ball. After some time, Gwinn finally got the ball and Chris Bosworth of the ModelTowners made the second touchdown for Gwinn! 14-6 was the score at that point with Gladstone trailing behind. The ModelTowners had the ball but didn’t seem to be making any strong moves so they lost it to the Braves who managed to get a touchdown and the 2 point conversion making the score of the game a tie of 14-14. Third Quarter Score:
Fourth quarter in the game brought more action and a lovely scenery as the moon started to show out on the Gwinn field. The Gladstone Braves started to kick up their game and were able to get another touchdown and few points making the score 21-14 with out ModelTowners trailing.
