The Marquette Redettes haven’t cared whether they’re at home or away… they’re going to play aggressive and efficient.
MARQUETTE, MI – 2/26/2015 – It’s an exciting time of year for high school athletes. The regular season is winding down and teams are putting in their final plans for the playoffs. Where some teams will be one and done, others have a good chance to make it deep into the playoffs and potentially make that trip over the bridge into troll country. This is just a simple article to see which teams will play where and when for the playoffs!
CLASS A
Marquette Redettes @ Traverse City West Titans (3/2) – MAR: 36 TCW: 26
Sault Area Blue Devils vs. Gaylord Blue Devils (3/2) – GBD: 45 SAULT: 40
Marquette Redettes vs. Traverse City Central
- The undefeated Redettes look to continue their magical season as they welcome in a familiar foe to their gym. The Redettes dominated TCC back on December 30th 60-17. TCC is coming off of a bye and has had plenty of time to prepare for a potential revenge game.

It’s been tough for teams to travel to Houghton, fortunately for the Maroons, they’ll be hosting the #3 team in the Yoop.
CLASS B
Houghton Gremlins @ Menominee Maroons (3/2) – HOU: 39 MEN: 30
Kingsford Flivvers @ HOU: 47 KINGS: 29
Escanaba Eskymos @ Gladstone Braves (3/4) ESKY: 46 GLAD: 27
Houghton Gremlins vs. Escanaba Eskymos – March 6th @ 7pm

Gwinn High School in New Swanzy, MI will be the sight for District 94.
CLASS C
DISTRICT 94 (@ Gwinn)
Manistique Emeralds vs Negaunee Miners – 6pm on March 4th
- At 7-3, the Negaunee Miners looked like they were going to push the Lady Hematites to a final showdown for the MPC Title in the last game of the season, but a seven game losing streak derailed the Miners conference hopes. The Emeralds, however, failed to win a single conference game in 2014-2015. The Miners dispatched them with ease, outscoring them 47 in the two games combined.
Gwinn ModelTowners vs. Ishpeming Hematites – 7:30pm on March 4th
- This district is all MPC teams, and Gwinn has revenge on the mind. After being swept by the Hematites in the regular season, once by 20+ points and again on a controversial buzzer beater being waved in Gwinn, Ellie Olsen & Co. will look to take Ishpeming’s MPC Championship season, and tear it down before their eyes.

Meanwhile, in District 95, the new-to-the-district Patriots will play host to Iron Mountain, West Iron County, & Norway for the first time.
District 95 (@ Westwood)
Iron Mountain Mountaineers vs. West Iron County Wykons (3/2) IM: 54 WIC: 44
Westwood Patriots vs. Norway Knights (3/2) – NOR: 47 WW: 36
DISTRICT 96 (@ Calumet)
L’Anse Purple Hornets vs. Hancock Bulldogs (3/2) – HAN: 44 L’A: 37
Calumet Copper Kings vs. Ironwood Red Devils (3/2) – CAL: 63 IRON: 18

The Lady Copper Kings have come from behind, dominated teams, and won back-and-forth games this year, and will look to win a district title while playing host!
Hancock Bulldogs @ Calumet Copper Kings – 7pm on March 4th
- Calumet swept their conference rival during the regular season, winning in Hancock 43-37, then beating them handily on their home court 53-36. Hancock can try to spoil the party on Calumet’s home court once again, as it’s tough for a team to beat another three times within a season.
This article will be uploaded after each game, so be sure to see what’s happening in the U.P. Girl’s Basketball format!
