Marquette, MI – January 6th, 2026 – This week, we were joined by Joe Dost, who recently led the Negaunee Miners baseball team to a Majors Division State Championship, the first in program history.
Dost grew up in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, where he was a multi-sport athlete. Despite limited playing time early in his high school career, he emerged as a standout linebacker during his senior year. After high school, Dost chose to walk on at Northern Michigan University, where he went on to start for three seasons and earned All-Conference honors twice. Following his playing days, he turned his focus to coaching, working with his kids in youth baseball, basketball, and football.

Next week, we’ll be joined by Dawn and Mark Evans, two individuals who play a major role in the Negaunee community. Dawn currently serves as the Booster Club President, while Mark is a longtime play-by-play announcer for the Miners. Together, they are also familiar voices as PA announcers at Negaunee sporting events.
