Marquette, MI – December 30th, 2025 – This week, we were fortunate to be joined by former NHL player Justin Florek. Florek grew up in Marquette and went on to play college hockey for his hometown team, Northern Michigan University. Throughout his impressive career, he had the opportunity to compete alongside—and against—some of the best players in the world.
Florek walked us through his NHL draft experience, professional career, time playing in Germany, and what it meant to represent his country on the international stage. Toward the end of the show, a few of Florek’s fans who joined us for breakfast at Slabz worked up the courage to put on the headset and ask him questions live on air.
