It was a very quiet first period as the Marquette Redmen looked to defeat the Escanaba Eskimos. The referees were doing their job well, not allowing the game to get out of hand, and two minutes into the second, the Redmen went on the power play. They couldn’t make anything happen, and soon things returned to full strength. Hunter D. was called for a tripping penalty midway through the period, and that gave the Eskimos a serious chance to take the lead. The Marquette Redmen finally took the lead when Sean O. was fed through some tough defense and deposited a quick wrist shot.

Coming out of the much needed second period intermission, the Marquette Redmen were leading the tough Eskimos by a single goal. It was a tight game for much of the first part of the final period, but the Eskimos weren’t giving up. The Both teams had been giving it their all, and they began to become visibly tired, but it would all come down to the final minutes of play. As the final period began to reach it’s final minutes, the Eskimos tied the game up at 1-1, and with just under nine minutes to play, it would be an interesting end to the game for the Redmen. Marquette came back within two minutes to retake the lead 2-1, and they would have to hold the Eskimos off for the final minutes. With under one minute left, the Eskimos pulled their goalie, but it was too late. The Marquette Redmen would skate away with the win.
