Marquette, MI – Yu Darvish went five innings allowing two runs on five hits as the Texas Rangers picked up their tenth win in eleven games. Rangers Mike Napoli added a home run in the 5-2 victory Sunday night. Tigers pitcher Matt Boyd struggled allowing for runs on twelve hits in 5 1/3 innings. Ian Kinsler was the only bright spot for the Tigers adding a home run in the first inning. The Tigers move their attention to the Houston Astros where they begin an 11 game road trip tonight in Texas.
The Milwaukee Brewers had a rough day yesterday losing to the Chicago Cubs 13-6. The Cubs were led by third baseman Kris Bryant who added two home runs on the day followed by catcher Willson Contreras who went three for three and three RBI. Jake Arrieta allowed one earned run and five hits in six innings of work for the Cubs. All of the Brewers offense came in the ninth adding five runs to their total of six. The Brewers will now enjoy an off day before taking on the Toronto Blue Jays.
