Northern Michigan Football, Tigers Get Win And Tigers Analyst Rod Allen

Luke Ghiardi and Ryan Ranguette

Marquette, MI – 8/2/17 – The Northern Michigan University Football Team is in rebuilding mode going into the 2017-2018 season with recently hired head coach Kyle Nystrom. Last year the Wildcats season ended in a 3-8 record with attendance at a low point. Nystrom looks to change the culture moving forward by taking baby steps and improving in each area one by one. The 2017 coaches poll came out and ranked the Wildcats at number 9 out 10 in the GLIAC. Kyle Nystrom and his staff look to create stability and great recruiting habits moving forward.

The Detroit Tigers went into Yankee Stadium going up against longtime starter CC Sabathia. On the 32nd pitch of the night from Sabathia, Tigers catcher John Hicks sent a three run homer to the right field fence giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez pitched a great game going 6 2/3 innings and improving his record against the Yankees in New York to 3-0. Tigers sent Shane Greene to complete a 5 out save as the Tigers won the game 4-3.

Detroit Tigers Analyst Rod Allen from Fox Sports Detroit joined us this morning to talk about the Tigers 2017 season thus far. Rod touched base on the trade deadline and the future of the Detroit Tigers. He also talked about Tigers GM Al Avila and the job he’s done for the organization. We would like to thank Rod Allen for joining us and bringing insight to the Tigers future.
