Marquette MI, – September 3rd, 2025 – NFL football returns tomorrow night as the Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, host their division rival, the Dallas Cowboys, to kick off the new season. Meanwhile, many Yoopers are looking forward to Sunday’s game of the week: the Detroit Lions taking on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. For the first time in twenty years, the Lions and Packers will face off for week one bragging rights.
The Packers made a significant move last week as they traded for a top defensive player in Micah Parsons. Parsons was part of contract negotiations with the Cowboys this offseason. Ultimately, things broke down, and the Cowboys decided it would be best to trade him. In order to get Parsons, the Packers had to give up Kenny Clark and two future first-round picks. Parson signed a new deal with the Packers reeling in 188 million over four years, including 120 million fully guaranteed, becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
