Marquette, MI – October 23rd, 2025 – Tonight marks the beginning of the final games of the regular season, which will also be the last game for most seniors. This week features several matches that will determine which teams will make the playoffs and their seeding.
The Negaunee Miners are set to face the Iron Mountain Mountaineers tonight in what has historically been a fierce rivalry. The Miners need a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive, and this evening also marks their rescheduled homecoming celebration. The Miners’ defense will need to perform well to contain the Mountaineers’ quarterback, Brayden Kassin. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Miners Stadium, and the game will be broadcast on Sunny 101.9, with Carl and Brad providing commentary.
The Marquette Sentinels have a similar opportunity to the Negaunee Miners, as they can enhance their chances of postseason play with a win tomorrow night. The Sentinels have started to peak at the right time, winning two consecutive games and allowing only 29 points in the past two weeks. Marquette is set to host the Kingsford Flivvers, who have a record of 6-2 and are looking to bounce back after losing to the top team in the UP, Menominee. Marquette will need another strong performance from quarterback Ford Richardson, who has excelled over the past few weeks. Kickoff is also set for 7:00 pm Friday, and Michael will be on the call for Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 or 99.9.
The Ishpeming Hematites will play their final game tomorrow hosting the Pickford Panthers. Last season, the Hematites were eliminated from the playoffs by Pickford, so they will be seeking revenge. Unfortunately, they will likely be without their leader, Grady Gauthier, who is sidelined with an ankle injury. In Gauthier’s absence, Derek Meyer and Dax Kakkuri have stepped up to take on more carries. The Hematites will likely rely on their running game. If you can’t make it to the game, you can listen to the broadcast by Tyler and Bob on 98.3 WRUP.
