Marquette, MI – July 30th, 2026 – For the first time since 2016, a mashup of sports and the world’s leading quiz show is coming to the ESPN App.
Hosted by Joe Buck, the award-winning voice of Monday Night Football, ESPN Jeopardy! will bring together sports commentators, athletes, and celebrity sports fans as they step onto the iconic Alex Trebek Stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, to compete for the title of “ESPN Jeopardy!” champion and a $500,000 prize donated to the charity of their choice.
Buck is no stranger to the Jeopardy! stage, as he previously served as a guest host for one week in August 2021 following the passing of longtime host Alex Trebek.
This marks the return of a sports-focused version of the legendary quiz show for the first time in nearly a decade. The previous sports edition, Sports Jeopardy!, aired on Crackle from 2014 through 2016 and was hosted by Dan Patrick.
The tournament will begin with a quarterfinal round before advancing to three semifinal matchups and a championship final. Contestants will compete in groups of three, with the winners moving one step closer to being crowned the first ESPN Jeopardy! champion.
