Marquette, MI – July 17th, 2025 – After having a standout junior basketball season at Baraga High School, Kara Roberts received an offer from Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where Roberts announced she will continue her athletic career. Roberts joins a list of U.P. girls who will also play college basketball: Lily Johnson (Gladstone) and Jenessa Eagle (Ishpeming). All of whom will be finishing their last year of high school this upcoming year.
This season, Roberts averaged 19.8 points, 3.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game. Roberts scored most of her points from beyond the three-point line, as she finished 7th in Michigan for three-pointers made last season with 57. Roberts continues to improve her game this summer as she is currently playing AAU with Zero Star Basketball, led by Dustin Brancheau at Advantedge Sports.
Robert’s scoring ability could impact Wisconsin-Eau Claire, especially given their past struggles with deep shots, with just 148 of 518 attempts. Robert’s ability to score could provide a much-needed boost to their offensive effectiveness. The Blugold’s poor shooting didn’t lead to a great season, finishing 8-17.
