Marquette, MI – October 20, 2017 – Marquette Senior High School really out did itself for the Second Annual Marquette Tailgate Party. This year’s party was bigger and better with so many of Marquette’s local businesses supporting and participating in the event.
No one could have left the school hungry after the feast under the big tent. Tables covered in food impressed the crowd with pizza from Aubree’s and Domino’s as well as sub sandwiches, soda, and dessert – lots of dessert. Guests packed the food tent enjoying the nice free dinner before checking out the rest of the evenings festivities.
Out on the practice field Double Trouble Entertainment had three large inflatables set up for the kids. Corn hole boards were out in the middle of the field where teams could try to sinking the bean bag, or smacking each other with the them as it occasionally turned out. UP Health System and Honor Credit Union also had tents up on the field to give away free swag and raffle off prizes. Face painting was at the far end of the field while some of the older kids got a chance to learn about the NMU ROTC Program . People could even make some fresh apple cider to enjoy the beautiful fall day even more!
Major Discount was up on the Great Lakes Radio stage playing some great tunes and announcing for the event while Voices of the Marquette Redmen, Ryan Ranguette and Luke Ghiardi reported live on-air from the field! The guys caught up with MSHS Athletic Director Alex Tiseo before heading up to the press box at the William R. Hart Stadium for the Pre-game Show.
While the final game of the season for the Marquette Redmen varsity football team didn’t end in a win, the tailgate party was a huge success with community members coming out to show their undying support for their high school athletes.
