The Marquette Redmen VS the Gwinn Modeltowners in Boys Basketball Winning (64) to (45)

Marquette, Michigan – 03/01/16– Marquette Senior High School hosted the Gwinn Modeltowners for tonights Varsity Boys Basketball game. The game was a lot closer than the score indicates and it was filled with straight up action. Mike and Justin brought you all of that in-game action on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 and 99.9.
The first half of the game went had great plays from both sides as the Marquette kept the lead, with Gwinn trailing no so far behind. The ModelTowners got tip off in the first quarter but Luke Pap from the Redmen scored the first points of the game. There was a lot of contact in this half under the basket. The Redmen made baskets left and right before an unlucky turn over to Gwinn. The Modeltwoners shot a great fifteen footer bumping the socre to 10-17 at end of quarter one with the Redmen in the lead. The Marquette fans were going crazy in the stands at the beginning of the second quarter.
The first quarter started off with Gwinn sinking a few more points for the team. The Redmen pushed their way through finding a weak spot in Gwinn’s. The Redmen landed a few more shots with Gwinn scoring the last points in the second quarter. The score of the first half ended 24-28 with the Marquette Redmen leading over Gwinn.
The second half of the game started off with another tip off in Gwinn’s favor leading to the first points of the quarter. Gwinn got a few more free throws before the boys playing for Marquette kick it into gear. The ModelTowners were giving it all that they had to try to keep up with the Redmen still behind, 34-43 at the end of the third. Through the final quarter, the Redmen widened the gap between the two teams. 45-64 was the final score of the game with the Marquette Redmen taking the win.
