The Marquette Redmen fell to the Utica Eisenhower Eagles 7-5 on Fox Sport Marquette

Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan – December 1st, 2017–  The Marquette Redmen Hockey Team is on the road this weekend for tournament in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  The Redmen faced the Utica Eisenhower Eagles in their first game tonight.  John Thomsen and Joe Gaffney were there to bring you all the action LIVE on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 FM.

The first period went without a goal until the 15:06 mark, when Sean O’Connor buried a rebound and put the Redmen up 1-0.  The Eagles came right back, however, and almost scored on the ensuing play.  Marquette goalie Dylan Sibilsky made a big save and kept the Eagles scoreless, and that’s where the score stood at the end of the first.

The second period was wide open, with Utica-Eisenhower putting up 6 goals to Marquette’s 1.  Eagles player Matt Haist scored 4 of the 6, increasing his season total to 10.  The lone Marquette goal in the second period was scored by Aiden Frost, and at the end of the second, the score was 6-2 in favor of the Eagles.

The Redmen made a goaltending change to begin the third period, with Tyler Bergwall replacing Dylan Sibilsky in net.  The Redmen came back and scored three goals, but it wasn’t enough, as the Eagles scored an empty-netter late in the game to put them past the Redmen 7-5.
